MELAMINA

Melamine is a decorative sheet saturated with phenolic resins, which is thermofused on both sides of a board, providing a totally closed surface, free of pores, hard and resistant to surface wear.

They are basically chipboard or MDF to which layers of printed melamine are superimposed for aesthetic purposes. This is the most common form of wood panels. We can also find, although not as common, melamine plywood boards.

They are an economical solution within the wood panels. They allow us to achieve the appearance of any material at a much lower cost. Ironically, what is most often imitated are the different types or species of wood.

When melamine boards are used for coating, it is common to resort to chipboard or waterproof and fireproof MDF.

The advantage of this type of melamine boards is that they already come with a durable and resistant finish. They significantly reduce the work and labor required, and therefore also the cost of the job.

Uses: Furniture, coverings, handicrafts.

It can be applied to different boards:

1. Melamine laminated chipboard

Standar

Board composed of wood particles of different sizes, joined together by some type of resin, glue or other material and then pressed at high temperature.

Water-repellent

Chipboard for use in humid environments. It is normally identified by its green color throughout its thickness.

Fireproof

Chipboard with a low degree of flammability. It is normally identified by its red color throughout its thickness.

2. Superpan melamine laminate

Board composed of wood fiber faces and particleboard interior. For interior applications such as furniture and interior design.

Standar

Board composed of wood fiber faces and interior of agglomerated wood particles.

Fireproof

Board composed of fiberboard faces and interior of agglomerated wood particles, for use in humid environments.

Fireproof

Board made up of wood fiber faces and interior in agglomerated wood particles with a low degree of flammability.

Light

Chipboard with a low degree of flammability. It is normally identified by its red color throughout its thickness.

3. Melamine laminated MDF

Reconstituted wood panel obtained by decomposing hardwood or softwood waste into wood fibers, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure.

Standar
